Financial Literacy Promotion Project

Description: The Financial Literacy Promotion Project is a chapter project that develops the economic and marketing knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in a global economy. After learning the economic principles associated with financial literacy, chapter members will utilize their marketing knowledge and skills to communicate the benefits of financial literacy to others.

Event Timing: 15 minutes to present
Recommended if: You are interested in finance, or understand the economic principles associated with financial literacy, such as banking, budgeting, and setting and implementing financial goals
Recommended years of DECA experience: 1 year of experience before taking

Personal Financial Literacy

Description: Students will be assessed on their knowledge of areas such as: financial responsibility and decision making, income and careers, planning and money management, credit and debt, risk management and insurance, and saving and investing.
Event Overview: 1 participant, Financial literacy cluster exam, 1 role-play
Event Timing: 10 minutes to prepare, 10 minute interview time
Recommended if: You can manage income and assets, and can manage financial resources effectively for financial security
Recommended years of DECA experience: 1 year of experience before taking
